A Love Letter to NEEDTOBREATHE
Not my normal story, but one I need to write
Music. I love music. I play music. Without music, my life would be incomplete.
There have been songs and bands that have influenced me over the years, and my musical tastes have evolved. No band has impacted my life like Needtobreathe has. If you are unfamiliar with this band, I would recommend that you look them up immediately.
I first saw them when they opened up for Third Day (another impactful band in my life) at a concert. I had heard a song of theirs on the radio, but never thought much of it. I enjoyed them more than I did Third Day that night. I was a fan, and have never looked back.
Needtobreathe is an american rock band. They’re not a Christian band, although they are Christians and many of their songs are Christian in nature. Who they are simply comes out in their music. All of their songs are real, relatable in nearly every way. They write and sing about life, and the experiences we all share. There have been so many of their songs, on every album, that have spoken to me. I have often thought that they write songs about me and for me.
Of course they don’t, but the last concert of there’s I got to attend, Bear (the lead singer) said that he had given up on telling folks what their songs were about, because the fans were constantly…
