Aurora Star

Such beauty in the death of a priest
An event bathed in aurora glow
In a single moment his breath doth cease
By what means no mortal shall know

An angel of death prowls the streets
In search of specific prey
When found the victim meets
A creature simply known as They

A being of the highest tragedy
Spreading their own poor odds
A beauty very few will see
Known as a slayer of the gods

Death’s apprentice on rainbow wings
They carry more than fear and death
For if it’s hope one seeks
It can be found within their breath

Judgment of holy decree
It is something only some can see
The beauty of the Aurora Star

This is a poem written by my son for a British Literature assignment. I am ever in awe of his writing ability and wanted to share this with you all. I have also published a short story of his here if you’d like to read it.
